About Matt

After working with NB’s student ministry for nearly five years in a part-time capacity, Matt joined our full-time staff in August of 2011. He has served as our Youth and Children Ministry Coordinator, Family Pastor of Middle School, Family Pastor of High School, Associate Pastor of Missions and Discipleship, and is currently serving as our Lead Teaching Pastor—a role he has fulfilled since February of 2019.

Matt spent the previous 7 years working in the public school system as a teacher and coach. Prior to that he studied and played baseball at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, graduating in December of 2003. Matt earned an MTS from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the spring of 2017, and is currently pursuing an MTh with Union School of Theology. He is passionate about the gospel and seeing families of all nations transformed by its power. Matt and his wife Brittany make their home in Jenks with their four children, Brooks, Chandler, Matilyn, and Charlotte.
