Middle School

Wired (Grades 5th through 8th)

What We Believe

NBC’s Wired is a ministry designed to engage 5th-8th students with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through focussed Bible studies, times of worship, & intentional small groups, students will be encouraged & equipped to take ownership of their faith. Wired seeks to partner with parents to better understand & communicate with their children as they develop into teenagers.

An NB Families Ministry

What was once called the “nuclear family” in North America has morphed into several new, non-traditional, types of families, fragmented families, single-parent families, blended families and beyond. The television shows: Ozzie and Harriet, Father Knows, and Leave It To Beaver have been altered into American Family, Modern Family and the New Normal. The reality is that there is no perfect family. There never has been, nor will there ever be, a perfect family. But we don’t have to be pessimistic about the future. God’s Word can provide a map for every type of family.

Sundays at 9:30a in the Warehouse (1st Floor). Curriculum: The Gospel Project

New for Wired families is the opportunity to share in the same corporate worship experience at 11am on Sundays. We are moving to the Worship Center and will be sitting toward the front as a group. Students are welcomed to join our middle school ministry or sit with their family either way. In fact, Wired families can join us toward the front as well. What an exciting opportunity this is to worship together and leave each Sunday with the ability to discuss the sermon and scripture as a family!

Wednesdays at 6:30p – 8:00p in the Warehouse (1st Floor)

Current Study

Our 7th & 8th grade Sunday morning Bible study will be starting a new Gospel Project series that will highlight the importance of having a “God-Centered Worldview” in this day and age. This study will also address some of the big questions and debates within the Christian faith. Meanwhile, our 5th & 6th grade students will continue in a Bible Studies for Life curriculum that will focus on many practical issues that all preteens face. Both studies will carry throughout the winter season. Groups will meet at 9:30a in the Warehouse (5th & 6th in the Main Room, 7th & 8th in the Yellow Room).

The Warehouse is the place to be on Wednesdays (6:30-8:00), as we challenge and equip students with the truth of scripture. Each week we will fellowship together through games and activities, vesper-style worship, bible teaching, and small group discussions. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get plugged-in to gospel-centered community.

Ministry Pastor

Mike Krebs
Mike KrebsFamily Pastor of Middle School
Mike, or Krebs as most people call him, is the newest staff member at New Beginnings. A native Tulsan, Mike joined the NB team in September of 2014. Mike graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah with a Bachelor’s in Science (Kinesiology) and a minor in Psychology. Mike played football for Northeastern State University and went on to become the assistant strength coach at NSU for 5 years. While in college, Mike encountered the Lord and fell in love with this Jesus guy and His message. It was also in college that he met the other love of his life, his wife Jessica. Mike was an intern for several summers at Grace Baptist Church in Tahlequah and spent three years as a camp counselor for kids & teens at The Salvation Army Camp in Welling, OK. In his time as a coach at NSU, Mike was devoted to building genuine relationships with the athletes he was training, giving him many opportunities to share Christ. For the past 5 years, meeting with college students and athletes, teaching them the Word and the life of Christ were Mike’s primary ministry. He and his wife had an “open door” policy with their home and spent many hours pouring into the lives of lost and needy students, from making dinner to giving them a place to sleep. Mike has begun his Master’s of Divinity degree with an emphasis on Missions through the The Billy Graham School of Missions with The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Mike and his wife have a heart for people through life on life discipleship and seeing the nations come to know the Hope of Christ. He is a man’s man, with a love of the outdoors, strong coffee and building projects that involve awesome, loud power tools. Mike and Jess have been married 4 1/2 years and live in the bustling suburb of Broken Arrow with their sweet, spunky one-year-old daughter, Evelyn.
